Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NWNP)

The Northwest Territories (NWT) is Canada’s second-largest territory, known for its vast expanse, sparse population, and harsh climate. Covering approximately 1.17 million square kilometers, it has a population of around 45,000 people, with approximately 50% being Indigenous residents. The NWT borders the Arctic Ocean to the north and shares boundaries with the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia to the south, spanning approximately 1,325 kilometers from east to west and 2,000 kilometers from south to north. Located just outside the Arctic Circle at approximately 60 degrees north latitude, the region experiences extremely cold temperatures in winter, reaching as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius. Yellowknife, with a population of around 19,000, serves as the capital and is a renowned destination for aurora borealis (northern lights) tourism, despite being approximately 1,000 kilometers away from the nearest major city, Edmonton.

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NWNP) comprises two main categories: employer-driven skilled worker programs and business immigration programs.
